As “Y&R” fans said goodbye to Michelle Stafford as Phyllis Summers, a role she has played for 16 years, we get to continue to see her do the damn thing up right on her new webseries, “The Stafford Project.” Created and executive produced by Stafford, Paige Long and Paige Dorian, the series follows an actress trying to live her life as a working, single mom.
In the first episode, we see “Michelle” talking to her reps about possibly doing a series on the web about her life, and want the fans to love “Michelle” even more than they already do. Of course, things go awry and not as planned.
I enjoyed the pilot episode! Watching Michelle do some comedy was great. I never realized how some of the instances portrayed in the episode were based on some realistic events. For example, in the car scene, I had no idea that people would make such comments in reference to the surrogate. I loved how that was brought into play in this episode. Watching Michelle with Natalia was pure gold. To me, you can’t write that. I thought that was 100% real. A mother and a daughter, the love they share…straight down to cleaning the boogers…win win for me.
Personally, we got ourselves a hit on our hands. I am looking forward to seeing what scenarios “Michelle” gets into next. In the end, Michelle Stafford is doing it…as a single chick!
