Patrick Faucette just arrived on the scene as the absent Tony Watson on OWN’s “The Haves and the Have Nots.” The character of Tony arrives to town after learning that his son, Benny (Tyler Lepley) has been arrested, and pays a visit to Hanna (Crystal Fox). We spoke with Patrick about what brings Tony back after all this time:
“Benny kind of initiated that when he set me up with his mom to come over to cook dinner. Now that he kind of brought me into his life, my wife has since passed away, and I want to connect with my son. I’m still kind of a mystery as far as my past is concerned, so there may be some ulterior motives going on in the background that we haven’t found out about yet.”
Faucette spoke about first starting to work on the series:
“I was nervous at first, as they had already filmed six or seven episodes by that time. I was little worried because there are some shows that are real clique-y and an outside person stays there. However, the cast was very accepting, no divas, and everyone is a friendly, family type cast. Crystal Fox and Tyler Lepley are great, from rehearsing to hanging out eating lunch, they were great to work with.”
We tried to get a little bit of a tease of what’s to come with Benny and Tony. All Patrick left us with was this:
“There is some good story that will be coming. I go to the jail, and have a sit down with Benny, and it will be a serious talk. As I told Hanna, it’s time for Benny to know who his father is. I have a couple of connections who will get me in to see my son and have a little heart-to-heart with him. Fans will have to tune in and see what happens.”
We spoke more with Patrick Faucette about his start in the acting community, as well as working on “Hot in Cleveland” and meeting Betty White.
