On June 16, 2013, stars in daytime television came together for the 40th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA. As we were celebrating some wins of the night, we were treated to a few surprises. For one thing, who ever would have thought George Lucas and Carrie Fisher would be at the event? We had a shocking drama series win, a tie, and a lead actor who finally took home the gold after 35 years in the business.
CBS Daytime’s “The Bold and the Beautiful” was the winner of 4 awards that evening, but also won 5 awards at the Creative Arts ceremony. While “The Young and the Restless” had a total of 2 wins, they had garnered 5 wins at Creative Arts. “General Hospital” took home 2 big awards, and a Creative Arts Emmy. “Days of our Lives” had 2 wins, and 2 Creative Arts Emmys.
