As the town of Genoa City mourns the loss of Katherine Chancellor, family and friends will soon gather together for a special memorial service for the our favorite duchess. “The Young and the Restless” is set to air a two part memorial service to honor Kay, and actress Jeanne Cooper.
Some “Y&R” fan favorites are set to return for the service which include: Beau Kazer (Brock Reynolds), Lauralee Bell (Christine “Cricket” Blair), Patty Weaver (Gina Roma), Michael Damian (Danny Romalotti), Tricia Cast (Nina Webster), Adrienne Frantz (Amber Moore), and Cooper’s real-life son, Corbin Bernsen. Bernsen plays the recurring role of Father Todd, Paul Williams’ (Doug Davidson) brother. Also, Michael Damian is set to perform, “That’s When I’ll Stop Loving You,” the song that was heard in the special Jeanne Cooper tribute episode in May.
Executive Producer of “Y&R,” Jill Farren Phelps, released this statement about the upcoming two part episodes:
“It’s time for the characters of Genoa City to say their goodbyes to Katherine, and while it’s heartbreaking for everyone involved, we hope our viewers will find it a fitting tribute to both an irreplaceable character and the amazing woman who portrayed her. Katherine had some final surprises up her sleeve that will be revealed at the service and we think everyone will come away with smiles on their faces.”
The special memorial episodes will air on September 3 and 4 on CBS Daytime’s “The Young and the Restless.” Fans can share their favorite Kay moments on Twitter using the hashtag: #RememberingKay.
