After first being reported by Tommy Garrett of Highlight Hollywood that Josh Griffith was on the way out of “The Young and the Restless” as headwriter, fans began to speculate who would then take over.
Soaps in Depth first reported that Shelly Altman and Jean Passanante would take over co-headwriting duties at the #1 daytime soap. Daytime Confidential went on to confirm the story.
Prior to joining the writing ranks at “Y&R,” Altman was associate headwriter at “Another World,” and “One Life to Live.” She was co-headwriter at “General Hospital” from 2012-2013. Passanante was headwriter at “All My Children,” “Another World,” and “As the World Turns.” She then was associate headwriter at “One Life to Live” and “General Hospital.”
