What would Genoa City be like without having a schemer in the midst? Carmine Basco certainly fits that description and then some. Marco Dapper plays the role on CBS Daytime‘s “The Young and the Restless,” and he certainly finds himself in trouble this week.
“Everyone hates Carmine at this point. I’m definitely in hot water. It’s an interesting feeling to see, as no one is on my side right now. I am completely amongst myself, and while I get to be the bad guy, I’m happy! I am having a blast right now. This is some of my favorite stuff to do. Being a nice guy is fun and everything, but this is juicy stuff that I can really dig in to.”
It was a very interesting scene with Carmine as he was tending bar and waited on Sharon Newman (Sharon Case). For a split second fans, myself included, began to wonder if the waters were being tested for a possible Sharon/Carmine pairing?
“Honestly, I don’t know what that was. I think it was just her going to the bar, and Carmine works the bar, and just had some dialogue. Nothing ever came from that, though, unfortunately.”
Carmine’s rival, Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) may hate each other on-screen, but the two definitely bring their A-game to their characters, and are much fun as they are on and off the screen. Dapper filled us in on what’s it like working with LeBlanc:
“It’s hard NOT to like Christian LeBlanc. The guy is so nice, and a great person to work with. I couldn’t ask for anything more. Working with him and getting to play off each other, we always have good time.”
